Strengthening the Bond: Dancing for Family Connection- Join Dance TAG for a workshop with Marion Ramírez, who has developed a movement-based practice for supporting family connections across generations. This work has been inspired by her involvement as the facilitator of the movement component of the Fathering Circle, an unusual community project in Philadelphia which supports dads through conversation groups, movement sessions and art making.
In this workshop she will share the methods used to structure movement sessions, celebrating family and generational ties and creating opportunities for trust and communication. Power and strength can be experienced without being centered on ideas of aggression and destruction. Participants will practice a range of movement qualities, providing outlets for physical and emotional expression, developing confidence, and the joy of dancing.
